The agreement is earmarked to promote projects in third countries
encompassed by exports from Great Britain and Croatia and to
strengthen co-operation between contracting parties in the field
of offering guarantees and insuring exports.
The agreement involves mutual financial support in projects and if
both sides are involved in joint project in other countries, to
offer direct support in the form of insuring exports. The HBOR will
within its section of the loans programme issue guarantees and
insurance policies offering support for the sale of Croatian goods
and services while the ECGD will issue guarantees and insurance
policies offering support for goods and services sold from Great
Britain.
Co-operation also encompasses an exchange of information regarding
business co-operation, support, co-operation and advice on joint
projects and an exchange of experiences.
The ECGD is an official government export-credit agency in Great
Britain. It was established in 1919 as the first agency to insure
export loans in the world.
