The border crossing is expected to be officially opened by Croatian
Foreign Minister Tonino Picula and Bosnian Minister for Civil
Affairs and Communications Svetozar Mihajlovic.
Works on the border crossing are nearing completion. Croatian
border police were deployed at the crossing on Friday so that all
necessary preparations for the opening be completed.
Before the border crossing is officially opened, the two sides will
sign an annex to the agreement on mutual locations for the border
crossing between Hrvatska Kostajnica and Srpska Kostajnica.
During the opening ceremony, at which UN Mission chief in Bosnia
Jacques Klein and other representatives of the international
community in Bosnia are expected to attend, the reconstructed
bridge over Una River in Hrvatska Kostajnica will be opened for
traffic. The bridge was reconstructed last year with European
Commission funds.
