Bob Richard, deputy regional commander for the UN police in Pec,
confirmed only Korotenko was suspended and under investigation,
without disclosing other details.
Barry Fletcher, spokesman for the UN Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK)
police, said Korotenko was suspected of violating UN regulations.
The Pristina-based daily in Albanian "Zeri" quoted reliable
sources in the UNMIK as saying the Russian police commander was
suspected of numerous criminal activities linked with smuggling,
corruption and possibly even graver crimes.
