PRISTINA, Aug 14 (Hina) - Albanian and Serb policemen, members of the Kosovo Protection Service, on Wednesday began performing joint patrols in two Kosovo municipalities, Strpce and Kacanik, for the very first time.

The joint patrolling is a big step for the Kosovo police and freedom
of movement, a police chief adviser in Gnjilane, Reshat Maliqi,
said.
Strpce is a municipality with a predominantly Serb population.
Residents have voiced satisfaction with the joint patrols, which
they believe will increase safety.
Kacanik is a municipality with a predominantly Albanian
population.
