He said this was the most important positive event in the past
several months in Kosovo, although the situation in general was not
satisfactory.
It is difficult to speak about the future status of Kosovo. There
will be no separation or cantonisation, but either will the
situation be restored to what it was before 1999, Steiner
reported.
The UNMIK is trying to establish order in the northern part of
Kosovska Mitrovica, with the most important task being the
establishment of efficient police control, he said.
