of the province began. #L#
In an interview with Kosovo television, Steiner confirmed he had a
strategic plan for the divided town of Kosovska Mitrovica. He was
confident a uniform legal system in the town would become
functional.
Steiner said legitimate institutions would be introduced in the
northern part of Kosovo as well.
Parallel structures are part of the past, and the past has to be put
behind, he said.
According to Steiner's strategic plan, a Kosovo police force would
be deployed throughout the province alongside the United Nations
Mission police.
Steiner dismissed as unfounded accusations by Macedonian
authorities that there were paramilitary Albanian units in Kosovo
aspiring to destabilise Macedonia.
