ZAGREB, Aug 11 (Hina) - Employed persons with secondary school education account for 58 percent of all job-holders in Croatia, according to 2001 national census. #L# Fifteen (15) percent of all the employees are persons who finished the elementary school, six (6) percent are those who have not finished the elementary school, whereas 0.4 percent of the employed have no education. There are 212,955 job-holders who have the tertiary education and they account for 13.7 percent of all employees. The gender structure among the employed persons with tertiary education is interesting. There are more women (102,787) who are holders of a collage degree than men (95,138), and this ratio is 51.9 to 48.1 in favour of women. However, men still have the lead among employees - holders of advanced degree. Thus, masters of arts and sciences (i.e. 9,566 persons) make up 0.6 percent of all employees. Of them, 57.7 percent are men. As regards doctorates, a total of 5,464 people with a doctor's degree are employed in Croatia (i.e. mere 0.35% of all job- holders), and of them, two thirds are men, according to the figures published on the Web site of the Central Bureau of Statistics.
