dissatisfaction with a draft constitutional law on national
minority rights. #L#
"As the president of the SDA, I wish to advise the Premier not to
bargain with the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) with regards to
the Constitutional Law on National Minorities, because any bargain
with the HDZ will eventually lead to a law that will be of no use to
anyone," Tankovic said.
He also expressed his disapproval with the latest census in Croatia
during which, according to his evaluation, tactics were led with
the aim of bringing national minorities down to the lowest possible
level.
"The fact that a huge omission was committed was confirmed by the
State Bureau of Statistics when they reported that the number of
25,000 Bosniaks needs to include a further 19,000 citizens who
proclaimed themselves as Muslims," Tankovic said. He added,
however, that a realistic estimation would be 90 to 110 thousand
Bosniaks in Croatia.
