SARAJEVO, Aug 9 (Hina) - The three-man Presidency of Bosnia-
Herzegovina on Friday welcomed a decision by the Council of
Ministers to adopt and approve an annex on an agreement with Croatia
concerning a border crossing at Kostajnica even though due to
formal procedures it could not endorse the document giving it the
relevant power. #L#
A member of the Presidency, Jozo Krizanovic, explained to
journalists in Sarajevo that according to regulations, at least 24
hours were required before the state leadership may finally approve
a decision by the ministerial council in the field of foreign
policies.
The Council of Ministers approved the annex to the agreement on the
border crossing at Kostajnica on late Thursday afternoon and
Krizanovic pointed out that there was nothing contentious in the
document and formal approval would be forthcoming upon the
fulfilment of the legal pre-conditions.
The Bosnian Presidency entrusted the Ministry for Civil Issues and
Communications with the task to give the state border service and
the UN international police clear directions which will ensure that
new incidents do not arise similar to the one when construction
machinery was not allowed to be put in place that the Croatian side
had deployed to commence construction of the crossing.
The Presidency members welcomed that attitude that the issue of the
border crossing should be resolved so as to allow transport of goods
over the border as soon as possible.
