SARAJEVO, Aug 9 (Hina) - Bosnia's minister in charge of refugees and
human rights, on Friday appealed on Zagreb to consider
possibilities of prolonging the support to refugees after they
leave Croatia for their pre-war homes in Bosnia-Herzegovina. #L#
Minister Kresimir Zubak, who is also a Bosnian Croat leader,
forwarded a request to Croatian Premier Ivica Racan asking him that
Croatia would continue giving health and social protection,
pensions and child's allowances to refugees in one year's time
after they return from Croatia to their pre-war homes in Bosnia.
According to a statement released from the Bosnian refugee
ministry, this measure could stimulate a greater number of refugees
to come back from Croatia, when they see that they will not
immediately be stripped of such rights upon their return to
Bosnia.
