MOSTAR, July 14 (Hina) - Twelve Bosnian Croat refugee families in
Drvar, western Bosnia-Herzegovina, have been evicted from
temporary accommodation facilities for the second time in the last
three months, the Croatian radio Herceg-Bosna in Mostar reported on
Saturday. #L#
The refugees were evicted from a sports hall where they had been
staying for the last three months in line with a decision by the town
council. They had been previously evicted from the houses of local
Serb returnees.
The refugees claim their eviction is part of a campaign to expel
Croat refugees from Drvar, while the local, Serb-dominated
authorities say that the evicted Croats are double occupants who
can return to their pre-war homes and therefore cannot have the
right to alternative accommodation. The displaced Croats, who
settled in Drvar at the end of the war in Bosnia, said they would try
to find accommodation in Croatia.
