ZAGREB, July 25 (Hina) - The programme for the new government has

meeting. #L#
The leaders of the Croatian Peasant Party (HSS), the Liberal Party
(LS), and the Independent Liberals - Zlatko Tomcic, Zlatko
Kramaric, and Jozo Rados - declined to speak about the programme in
detail, saying the prime minister designate, Ivica Racan, would
inform the public.
They could not say if Racan would do so before the presentation of
his new cabinet and the extraordinary parliamentary session
convened for Tuesday.
The three officials said today's meeting addressed the
macroeconomic aspects of Croatia's economy.
Tomcic said the most important result of today's session was the
identification of concrete development issues the new government
should focus on in the next 18 months.
Kramaric said today's meeting discussed the economic growth
projection. The prevailing position was that there is reason to
expect a 4.5 or even five percent growth rate instead of one 3.5
percent.
Rados said the new government would not abandon any of the reforms
it had initiated.
Kramaric said negotiations were proceeding well.
He was confident there would be no disputes as to the new ministers,
particularly after both the HSS and the LS expressly stated that
personnel was less important than programmes and the people who
will carry them out.
Also today, the leaders of the parliamentary majority in principle
completed talks on an agreement on the parliamentary majority.
