"We must step up the re-organisation, as it must be clear in the army
who will be retired and who remains," Mesic told reporters in a
Zagreb square where he was taking part in a local humanitarian
action.
Mesic added that he and premier designate Ivica Racan had discussed
the military issues on Friday night. They, however, did not discuss
Racan's plans on setting a new cabinet.
Asked to comment on an initiative of the regional parties to divide
Croatia into five regions, the Croatian head of state answered that
he was not yet been interested in the matter.
