ZAGEB, July 14 (Hina) - The president of the Social Democratic Party
(SDP) and premier designate, Ivica Racan, told reporters after
Sunday's meeting of the SDP Presidency and party's Main Committee
that the talks did not focus on personnel issues. He said he
received support to continue to implement reforms. #L#
Racan said he asked members of the Main Committee whether media
speculations about their dissatisfaction were correct. According
to some media, SDP Main Committee members were dissatisfied with
having to find out about possible replacements of the SDP
(resigned) government members from the media and not from Racan.
The primer designate said the Committee members responded in the
negative.
Racan also dismissed media claims that vice premier Goran Granic
would be appointed head of the Prime Minister's Office.
The premier designate did not wish to comment on who would leave the
government. He also declined to comment on whether vice president
seats would be cancelled.
He said the government and state administration reshuffle would
remain one of the main tasks of the new government.
Racan confirmed that Hungarian advisor to the Prime Minister Lajos
Bokros was leaving Croatia. The premier designate said he was
dissatisfied with the fact that Bokros made too many public
statements about what should have been done, in stead of analysing
the situation.
