ZAGREB, July 18 (Hina) - The establishment of a new liberal party will not cause a new split in the Croatian Social Liberal Party (HSLS), says a senior HSLS official, Jadranko Mijalic, on Thursday commenting on the announcement that
members who recently left the HSLS would set up their new party this September.

Mijalic assessed that Independent Liberals would cause stir only in
the HSLS branch in the town of Koprivnica.
The statutory commission of that local branch turned down the
demand of the HSLS chief Drazen Budisa to expel Mladen Godek from
the party.
Godek is now in the group of Independent Liberals who are planning
the form the new party.
