The new bridge at the south-east of the city, called The Bridge of
Homeland, will enable the faster connection between the Croatian
capital and its airport.
Its construction should last 28 months and 23 million euros will be
spent for this purpose. The bridge will be used for car, tram and
passenger traffic.
This bridge is also a part of a wider project for the construction of
the central equipment for cleaning waste waters. This is currently
the biggest project of such kind in Europe.
The equipment for purifying waste waters is supported by a
concession agreed by the City of Zagreb and the Croatian-German
company for the cleaning waste waters. This company consists of
"WTE Wassertechnik", "RWE Aqua" and "Vodoprivreda Zagreb".
The bridge, which will be long 878.90 metres and wide 34 metres, is
designed by Rajka Veverka. The company in charge of its
construction is "Industrogradnja".
