In a statement to Hina, Vujic said that the "atmosphere at the
opening was truly one of a festival" and he was pleased that
President Stjepan Mesic was in attendance.
According to Vujic, the opening speech by Mayor Dubravka Suica,
however, should not be considered an integral part of the
ceremony.
"The speech included some invectives which we'd rather avoid
hearing. For two years there were no political speeches at the
festival and particularly not in the presence of the President, so
there was no need for making him and others listen to cultural-
political pseudo-essays," Minister Vujic said.
