During the talks, the two parties stressed that progress had been
made in relations between Croatia and the European Commission,
considering that an Association and Stabilisation Agreement was
signed recently.
The two sides also agreed Croatia still needed to implement certain
reforms in the judiciary and the state administration and solve the
issue of refugees.
The officials also discussed the relations among the countries in
the region, particularly the unsolved Croatia-Slovenia issues.
Members of the European Commission delegation said Slovenia would
not have to wait long for membership in the European Union and that
it was in both countries' interest to solve the border issue as soon
as possible.
In Granic's opinion, the best solution for this issue, as well as
that of Ljubljanska bank, is the international ad hoc arbitration.
