ZAGREB, June 21 (Hina) - Croatian Vice-Premier Goran Granic on Friday met representatives of the Serb Orthodox Church in Croatia, the Metropolitan of Zagreb, Ljubljana and Italy, Jovan, and Father Milenko Popovic of Zagreb, the
government's public relations office said in a statement.
ZAGREB, June 21 (Hina) - Croatian Vice-Premier Goran Granic on
Friday met representatives of the Serb Orthodox Church in Croatia,
the Metropolitan of Zagreb, Ljubljana and Italy, Jovan, and Father
Milenko Popovic of Zagreb, the government's public relations
office said in a statement. #L#
Granic and his guests agreed that the Church played an important
role in the building of modern societies with a high level of
tolerance and minority rights.
Metropolitan Jovan said the atmosphere and relations in Croatia
were improving, while Popovic said there was a growing need for
cooperation and ecumenism, the statement said.
Granic said the Croatian government was determined to secure, by
the end of the year, the return of all Croatian Serb citizens who
wished to return, and return their property.
