SARAJEVO, July 9 (Hina) - Charges were pressed against Adnan Kadric, who was last Saturday arrested in Mostar, for his illegal possession of arms and forgery of documents. However, there is still no evidence that he should be charged

Herzegovina said on Tuesday. #L#
The spokeswoman Kirsten Haupt confirmed that at the moment of his
apprehension Kadric had possessed sophisticated arms and some
amount of ammunition.
It was established that Kadric, who comes from the central town of
Zenica, did not possess valid papers on the ownership of a car he was
driving when he was halted by local policemen in Mostar.
According to the UN mission, the collected evidence is not
sufficient for accusing Kadric of planning the murder of SFOR
commander, American General John Sylvester, who was in Mostar at
the same time when the accused was nabbed.
The claims that Kadric has been involved in the plan for the
assassination are just media speculations, Haupt added.
According to Monday's issue of "Vecernji List" for Bosnia-
Herzegovina, local police officers halted a car in a Mostar street,
which was driven by Adnan Kadric last Saturday.
The daily claims that Kadric is connected with Islamic terrorist
and criminal groups in Germany and the Netherlands. During the
search of his car, the police found a silencer-equipped machine-
gun. The police also subsequently established that Kadric had
driven the stolen car.
As Kadric was stopped only 300 metres of a location where Gen.
Sylvester should pass some time later, the police officers
suspected that he might be preparing the assassination of the SFOR
commander.
