ZAGREB, July 8 (Hina) - The real way out from the current situation
are early elections and we relayed this stand to President Stjepan
Mesic, the Croatian Party of Rights (HSP) leader, Anto Djapic, told
reporters after this party's delegation held consultations with
Croatian President on the new Prime Minister designate. #L#
Djapic said he had told President Mesic that the HSP would not
support the new, old government and the resigned Premier Ivica
Racan at the post of the new PM designate, as there were no
assurances that the new Cabinet would be more stable than the
previous one which had practically enjoyed the support of a hundred
members of the parliament.
For the HSP, it is unacceptable to continue the privatisation of the
Oil Company (INA), the Croatian Power Industry (HEP), and the
reform in the Croatian army, which the resigned government
started.
It is necessary to receive the legitimacy at the early
parliamentary elections for the implementation of such projects,
and we asked it from President Mesic, Djapic said.
