ZAGREB, June 29 (Hina) - The president of the ruling coalition's Croatian Peasant Party (HSS) said on Saturday he would not comment on the situation in the coalition or parties' stands until Tuesday, when the HSS Presidency convenes.
Zlatko Tomcic said he would withhold comment due to the "depth of the crisis".
ZAGREB, June 29 (Hina) - The president of the ruling coalition's
Croatian Peasant Party (HSS) said on Saturday he would not comment
on the situation in the coalition or parties' stands until Tuesday,
when the HSS Presidency convenes. Zlatko Tomcic said he would

"I will not make any comments for the simple reason that I believe
this is the biggest crisis in the coalition to date which I think we
can hardly overcome," Tomcic told Hina on the telephone.
He said the coalition could still "stand in theory" but that "such
torture" was out of the question as far as the HSS was concerned.
Tomcic announced his party would decide about further action on
Tuesday.
The five-party coalition hit yet another crisis last night,
according to many the deepest to date. The cause was parliament's
failure to ratify a deal with Slovenia on the Krsko nuclear power
plant due to lack of quorum, the result of the absence of Social
Liberal (HSLS) MPs, several MPs from the other four coalition
parties and opposition MPs.
