ZAGREB, June 28 (Hina) - MPs of the HSLS (Social Liberals) will not
return to parliament as they do not wish to participate in today's
day-long farce, Deputy Prime Minister and HSLS leader Drazen Budisa
said on Friday. #L#
He spoke to the media after a HSLS bench meeting which discussed if
this ruling coalition party's MPs would return to parliament to
vote on a deal with Slovenia on the nuclear power plant at Krsko.
Budisa said the deal was not at issue, but rather internal relations
within the ruling coalition.
He confirmed he did not intend to leave either the government or the
coalition.
In normal countries an agreement with as much political weight as
the Krsko deal with Slovenia is adopted by consensus among
political parties and not as it was done today in parliament, said
Budisa.
He maintained the ratification of the Krsko deal could have waited
as Slovenia had not approved it yet either. The contentious issues
regarding the power plant which were heard in today's debate could
have been included in further talks with Slovenia, he said.
