ZAGREB, June 12 (Hina) - Executive authority cannot meddle into valid court decisions, Croatian Chief Deputy Premier Drazen Budisa said in parliament on Wednesday in reply to a question by an MP of the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ)
about what he intended to undertake against the government's decision to extradite General Ante Gotovina to the Hague-based international criminal tribunal. Budisa recalled that the decision had been made by the competent court, not the government.

HDZ's MP Zdenka Petricevic-Babic reminded Budisa that before he
became a member of the government he had said that the Hague
indictment against Gotovina was without foundation.
Political estimates about the content of the indictment against
Gotovina are well known, there was no doubt that its elements were
not acceptable for Croatia, Budisa said. He reiterated that the
decision on extraditing Gotovina had been made by the court.
