from the agenda of the June sitting the ratification of an agreement
on the Krsko nuclear power plant signed by Slovenia and Croatia, and
postponed its ratification for one of coming sessions. #L#
The item was taken off the agenda because a group of 31 MPs forwarded
the agreement to the Constitutional Court to assess whether it was
in line with the Constitution. Only after the Constitutional Court
rules on whether the agreement was harmful for Slovenia and whether
it violated the constitutional rights of citizens to a healthy
environment, can the document be ratified.
Due to a stalemate in the ratification process, the Slovene
government on Thursday set a price for Croatia's HEP utility
company for electricity generated by the nuclear power plant,
despite the fact that the agreement will not take effect on July 1 as
planned.
The price includes expenses of the plant's future decomposition.
