This was expected because the majority of benches opposed the
amendments in yesterday's debate.
MPs, however, supported a law on the ratification of a framework
agreement between the European Commission and the Croatian
Government, which regulates general conditions for the management
of EU assistance funds for different programmes of Croatian
institutions.
The conditions referred to the management of 249 million euros of
non-repayable aid, which Croatia will obtain in line with the
Stabilisation and Association Agreement with the EU.
The parliament today also supported a law on the ratification of a
contract on a European Bank for Reconstruction and Development loan
for the construction the Zagreb-Rijeka highway.
The Croatian government has provided guarantees for the loan, worth
EUR90 million, which will be paid back over a period of 18 years,
from funds from road tolls. Interest on the loan is one percent.
