Despite their presence in the building on Wednesday, MPs of
Slobodan Milosevic's Socialist Party of Serbia, Vojislav Seselj's
Serb Radical Party, and Kostunica's DSS (Democratic Party of
Serbia) refused to report and participate in the session.
Today quorum was achieved for only a brief time, helping the
adoption of a law on ministries and thus making a government
reshuffle possible.
Parliament president Natasa Micic later excluded from the session
all the radicals after one of them, Natasa Jovanovic, poured water
over her and another party colleague turned off the microphones.
The leader of the Democratic Christian Party of Serbia, Serbian
Justice Minister Vladan Batic, announced today he would request an
urgent session of the presidency of the DOS ruling coalition to
consider the ousting of the DSS. This has already been requested by
Nenad Canak, Jozef Kasa, and Miodrag Isakov, leaders of parties
from the Vojvodina region.
The president of the DOS bench in the Serbian parliament, Cedomir
Jovanovic, today said the coalition would replace 50 MPs often
absent from sessions, regardless of what party they come from.
Among these the most numerous are DSS MPs, he added.
