Kosovo President Ibrahim Rugova visited Prizren, where he met with
members of the Kosovo Force's (KFOR) Multinational Brigade in
Sector South. He said that his main priority would be Kosovo's
independence.
Three years after the arrival of KFOR troops and the establishment
of the UN Administration, ethnic Albanian leaders said democracy
was strengthening in Kosovo, which was on the path to
independence.
Prime Minister Bajram Rexhepi said he supported Kosovo President
Rugova's proposal that June 12 be declared Kosovo Liberation Day.
The Serb community in Kosovo is not satisfied with the results of
the international community in the province. A Kosovo parliament
member, Oliver Ivanovic, said that disappointment was the
prevailing emotion among Kosovo Serbs after three years of
international administration.
