ZAGREB, June 4 (Hina) - Croatian President Stjepan Mesic has received a letter from French President Jacques Chirac thanking him for his letter of congratulation on Chirac's re-election as French President.

for his letter of congratulation on Chirac's re-election as French

President Chirac said in the letter his re-election would give him
an opportunity to continue supporting efforts aimed at developing
the region and strengthening friendship and cooperation with
Croatia, a process that started two years ago, said a statement
issued by the President's Office on Tuesday.
The French president also said France would continue actively
supporting Croatia's full re-integration into the region and
international community, particularly its integration into
Europe, whose purpose - admission to the European Union - was
confirmed with the Stabilisation and Association Agreement of
October last year, the statement read.
