ZAGREB, May 27 (Hina) - World Bank representatives led by the chief director for transactions Shengman Zhang and the director of the regional office, Andrew N. Vorkink, on Monday saw two projects at the Croatian Waters company which
will be financed with World Bank funds.

regional office, Andrew N. Vorkink, on Monday saw two projects at
the Croatian Waters company which will be financed with World Bank

The already started project is that of reconstruction of eastern
Slavonia, Baranja and western Srijem, for which EUR37.8 million
have been granted, and the project of water supply and sewage system
in coastal areas which is being prepared, worth 250 million US
dollars, 100 of which will be covered by a loan from the World Bank.
The water supply and sewage system will include more than one
hundred facilities in towns from the northernmost spot of Istria to
the southernmost town in Dalmatia, Vorkink said. He added the
project was of exceptional importance for the economy of the area,
especially for the development of tourism and environment
protection.
Besides the World Bank and Croatian Waters, involved in the project
will be the Croatian Bank for Reconstruction and Development. A
World Bank expert team will in the next several weeks arrive in
Croatia to become acquainted with all details of the project.
Vorkink said that the project could start being implemented in a
year or a year and a half.
