The letter, also forwarded to Hina in Washington, said that a
healthy investment effort of American capital in Croatia was being
blocked by bureaucratic methods and false accusations.
The signatories say that as members of a generation which wants to
return to Croatia, they must warn about the "unhealthy climate" in
Croatia.
They say that objections against the AFCO project were unfounded.
They expressed conviction that this was an attempt to stop a project
which would pull Split out from lethargy and the lack of perspective
in which it now vegetates.
The realisation of the project would create jobs and open up new
tourist possibilities, they said.
Healthy investment capital from abroad, including their own, which
is not supported by any state structures, and behind which there is
only mutual business interest, is the only solution for promoting
Croatian economy, the 27 American Croats say in the letter.
