ZAGREB, May 17 (Hina) - Croatian Labour and Social Welfare Minister Davorko Vidovic on Friday told representatives of the Croatian Pensioners' Association that the pension system was stable, thus there would be no decrease in
pensions, nor would their payment come into question, the Labour Ministry said in a statement.

Vidovic promised the pensioners he would find a solution for
securing "greater social fairness and better care for pensioners
with the lowest pensions".
However, he said, because of the unfavourable ratio between the
insured and those insurance users, as well as pension expenditures
of 15.5 of the GDP, it was not realistic to expect a spectacular
increase in pensions.
