Speaking at a news conference, at which he presented the New
Democracy party, which he leads, Mihajlovic said the authorities in
Belgrade would be very grateful to anyone who should provide
Mladic's address in Serbia or any other information proving that he
was in Serbia. He also expressed hope that "this misunderstanding"
would not affect relations between Serbia and the United States.
The minister said that Bosnian Serb leader Radovan Karadzic did not
visit Serbia since he took over the office of Interior Minister.
He reiterated that Serbia would no longer be a haven for people who
were wanted by the Hague was crimes tribunal or any other court.
The minister said that Serbian President Milan Milutinovic would
not be available to the Hague tribunal for the duration of his
mandate.
"That is the stand of the Serbian government," Mihajlovic said when
asked if police would arrest Milutinovic if he failed to respond to
the subpoena.
Mihajlovic expressed hope that police would not have to arrest
anyone and that all indictees would respond to subpoenas. However,
the police will react if so requested, he added.
