who is a member of a Croatian delegation to the Russian Federation,
led by President Stipe Mesic, on Thursday held talks with Russian
First Deputy Foreign Minister Valerij Loscinin.#L#
The two diplomats discussed bilateral cooperation, in the light of
talks between Mesic and Russian President Vladimir Putin on the
strengthening of economic cooperation, the Croatian Foreign
Ministry said in a statement.
During the talks, Picula presented Croatia's expectations during
Russia's chairmanship over the UN Security Council, particularly
regarding a letter jointly forwarded by the Croatian and Yugoslav
foreign ministers to the chairman of the Security Council, Sergey
Lavrov.
Picula once again invited Russian Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov to
visit Croatia, the statement said.
