In a statement delivered to Hina on Wednesday, Gotovina's American
attorney Luka Misetic claims that ICTY Chief Prosecutor Carla del
Ponte is entirely aware that Gotovina's being charged with the
ethnic cleansing of 150,000 to 200,000 Croatian Serbs is a complete
nonsense.
General Gotovina's attitude is absolutely clear - he will not be
anyone's scapegoat and will continue with his endeavours to prove
to the world that he is innocent and that the charges against him are
unjust, reads the statement by Gotovina's attorneys.
Ante Gotovina is a Croatian Army general indicted by the ICTY for
war crimes during the military operation "Storm" of 1995. He is
currently at large.
