Members of the committee will use the evidence presented by
Ortynski to decide whether there are just causes to recommend to the
parliament to set up an enquiry commission to determine whether or
not there are connections between the government and organised
crime. As a result of claims by Ortynski at the last parliament
sitting which discussed a report on the work of the State
Prosecutor's Office, parliament president Zlatko Tomcic suggested
that the Committee evaluate whether there is a need to establish an
enquiry commission into the matter.
Should the Committee recommend an enquiry commission then the
commission will be presented with all the important material and
the State Prosecutor's Office as the responsible body to determine
the facts and any possible legal measures to deal with claims of
conjugation in the government with organised crime.
