The Supreme Court confirmed the ruling passed in March 1999
acquitting Dubrovacka Banka director Neven Barac and the director
of "Medijator" company, Mirko Obrvan, of charges of abuse of
authority in economic transactions and forgery of official
documents.
The State Prosecutor has appealed against the County Court ruling,
but the Supreme Court refused the appeal as unfounded.
The Supreme Court considers, among else, that the Dubrovnik County
Court's ruling acquitting the accused due to lack of evidence was
founded.
Neven Barac and several other persons, including Barac's son
Zdeslav and media mogul Miroslav Kutle, are still under
investigation on suspicion of embezzlement.
