Picula, who arrived in Belgrade today for a two-day official visit,
met Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Zarko Korac, with whom he
discussed bilateral relations.
We have discussed economic and cultural relations, the visa regime,
the refugees and the borders, Korac said after the meeting.
Picula said that both countries aspired towards joining the
European Union as well as developing regional cooperation.
There was not enough time to elaborate on all topics that we
mentioned, but this was not only a meeting of any officials of the
two governments, but a meeting of those who did all to change
political relations in the region and make these talks possible,
Picula said.
Korac spoke optimistically about his meeting with Picula, adding
that Belgrade was ready to cooperate and was glad that Zagreb showed
the same readiness. Relations between the two countries are
improving to the benefit of Croatia, Yugoslavia and the whole
region, Korac said.
