said in Washington on Saturday. #L#
Kustrak and Croatian National Bank deputy governor Boris Vujcic are
participating in the spring World Bank and IMF conferences in the US
capital.
The new stand-by agreement, for a one-year period and a relatively
low amount, could be signed in the autumn. Its principal objective
is to show that Croatia is implementing economic reforms and
represents a sound environment for foreign investments.
For the first time, Croatia wishes to cover all public finances with
the new agreement, as well as two big projects, the Croatian Roads
and Croatian Motorways companies, said Kustrak.
Road-building in Croatia has to be stepped up with the help of
substantial foreign investments and the inclusion of the road and
motorway projects in the stand-by agreement should facilitate
that, he added.
