Kurelec told reporters at the end of the meting that the talks had
focused on "the current situation of bilateral relations and
further activities aimed at solving open issues".
They discussed the implementation of measures agreed on during the
last meeting between Croatian prime Minister Ivica Racan and the
former chairman of the Bosnian Council of Ministers, Zlatko
Lagumdzija in Zagreb on march 6.
IN this context, Kurelec said, "a high degree of agreement was
reached concerning the ratifying of the Agreement on Free Transit
through Croatian Territory from and to Ploce harbour, and through
Bosnian Territory into Neum".
Special attention was paid to the problems of refugee return, the
situation of signing agreements and other bilateral activities
concerning border crossings and trade.
We can announce, Kurelec said, that on April 16, the border crossing
between Slavonski Samac and Bosanski Samac would be opened. A
session of the Inter-State Council for Cooperation between Croatia
and Bosnia will take place in Sarajevo in May, which is expected to
speed up negotiations so that agreements on border traffic and
cooperation, as well as an agreement on joint locations on border
crossings could be signed.
A border crossing at Hrvatska Kostajnica is also expected to be
opened soon.
The meeting in Dubrovnik was attended by Bosnian Ambassador in
Zagreb Zlatko Dizdarevic and Croatian Ambassador in Sarajevo,
Josip Vrbosic.
