At its session on Thursday, the Croatian government adopted a
decision on the beginning of the implementation of tariff rates
from the regulation on tariff rates for 2002 for products from
Poland and Norway. The decision was adopted after the ratification
of the agreements between Croatia and the two countries.
The free trade agreement with Poland was signed on November 7, 2001.
Under the agreement, all tariffs for industrial products will be
cancelled.
The free trade agreement with Norway was signed at the end of June
2004 and it foresees the cancellation of tariffs for about 70
percent of industrial products and a transitional period for more
delicate products.
So far, Croatia has signed 11 free trade agreements with 28
countries. This year, Croatia is expected to sign such agreements
with Yugoslavia and Albania.
