The debate was organised by the Croatian Legal Centre and the Labour
and Welfare Ministry, which are currently preparing a project for
out of court settlements in labour disputes, and the government's
Social Partnership Office and unions, in an effort to investigate
the most adequate model of permanent arbitration institutions.
There is a need in Croatia to institutionalise models of resolving
labour disputes as the current court system cannot effectively
handle collective and individual disputes, it was said at the
meeting.
