The secretariat of the BH Presidency said in a statement that in the
coming period, but not before 2004, the ICTY would start
preparations which would enable the judiciary in Bosnia-
Herzegovina to gradually start taking over the investigation and
prosecution of war crimes.
Both sides agreed that this required a reform of the domestic
judicial system, including its improvement, both in terms of
personnel and funding, and full cooperation in all activities which
should lead to the punishment of war criminals.
Blewitt arrived in Sarajevo to prepare the arrival of Chief
Prosecutor Carla del Ponte on Wednesday.
Del Ponte is expected to meet High Representative Wolfgang
Petritsch and Foreign Minister Zlatko Lagumdzija.
