BELGRADE, April 11 (Hina) - The Yugoslav parliamentary Council of Republics on Wednesday adopted a law on cooperation with the Hague-based U.N. war crimes tribunal, while its Council of Citizens resumed debating the bill. Most
objections to the law came from opposition deputies of the Socialist Party of Slobodan Milosevic, the Yugoslav Left of Mirjana Markovic, and the Serb Radical Party of Vojislav Seselj.

Deputies were first addressed by Yugoslav Deputy Prime Minister
Miroljub Labus, who said that cooperation with the tribunal was the
only way for Yugoslavia to improve its international image.
"Objections questioning the legality of the tribunal are
superfluous. One cannot recognise one resolution - such as the one
on Kosovo - and not recognise another, like the one on the
establishment of the Hague tribunal," Labus said. Yugoslavia has
approved the establishment of an international criminal tribunal
so there is no reason to challenge the Hague tribunal, he added.
