The agreement provides the foundation for the gradual overcoming of
antagonism, gives a chance to the transborder and inter-entity
return of refugees and displaced persons, provides the basis for
the equality of the constituent peoples, and opens a European
prospect for Bosnia and Herzegovina, said the statement.
Croatia supports negotiations that will lead to the creation of a
new political climate for Bosnia's three peoples, especially the
Croat as the least numerous one. The agreement has a fundamental
political significance and represents the most important
contribution to Bosnia's constitutional order since the passing of
the Dayton peace agreement in 1995, the statement said.
Croatia appreciates the fact that the agreement guarantees the
equality of the three peoples (Croats, Muslims, Serbs) through new
institutions and protection mechanisms, in keeping with the
current possibilities and circumstances.
Croatia will continue to support, transparently and
constructively, the efforts of the international community's High
Representative in Bosnia and agreements between the three peoples'
political representatives which are aimed at finding the best
constitutional solutions which will guarantee the Croat people's
equality throughout Bosnia's territory, the statement said.
Croatia called on Bosnian Croat political parties to participate in
the implementation of constitutional changes.
