SARAJEVO, March 22 (Hina) - All Bosnian Croat political parties
decided to insist on constitutional changes in Bosnia-Herzegovina
which will ensure entirely symmetrical solutions for the
protection of interests of all three peoples in both entities.
Representatives of six parties - the Croatian Democratic Union
(HDZ), the Croatian Christian Democratic Union (HKDU), the
Croatian People's Union (HNZ), the Croatian Peasants' Party (HNS),
the Croatian Party of Rights (HSP) and the New Croatian Initiative
(NHI) - in Sarajevo on Thursday adopted a special memorandum which
was later forwarded to High Representative Wolfgang Petritsch and
representatives of most influential western countries included in
the implementation of the Dayton Agreement.
The memorandum, which was forwarded to Hina on Friday, says that the
coming constitutional changes in Bosnia must be in line with
European democratic standards and equally protect ethnic and civil
rights.
Croat representatives participating in negotiations on
constitutional changes in Bosnia are fully supported to continue to
insist on solutions harmonised among all Croat political parties at
a meeting held in Sarajevo on February 12.
Negotiations on constitutional changes in Bosnia were temporarily
adjourned in the night between Thursday and Friday. The meeting,
held under the mediation of the High Representative, will resumed
on Monday.
