The Foreign Ministry has been obliged to establish contact with
competent ministries in Bosnia-Herzegovina as soon as possible,
the government said in a statement.
Assistant Public Works Minister Lovre Pejkovic told reporters
yesterday several thousand people, mostly Croats from central
Bosnia and the Bosnian Serb entity, were expected to arrive in Knin,
Gracac and Benkovac in Croatia as they were being evicted from
houses in Drvar into which they moved during the war in Bosnia after
being expelled from their homes. Since they have not been provided
with alternative accommodation in Bosnia and cannot return to their
homes, they have started arriving in Croatia.
Croatia will provide for the refugees and the Ministry of Public
Works, Reconstruction and Construction will prepare an alternative
solution in case of a major refugee wave.
