ZAGREB, March 21 (Hina) - At Thursday's closed session the Croatian government made a decision on the continuation of the process of choosing the best bidder in the further privatisation of the Croatia Insurance company, the
government's public relations office said in a statement.

Candidates have been narrowed down to five: Germany's Allianz, a
Croatian consortium, Dutch TBI Holding, Slovene's Triglav and
Austrian Uniqua.
The government urged the parliament not to adopt draft amendments
to the Law on Financing Water Management, since, it said, they are
not in accordance to the Law on Utility Management, Law on Companies
and Water Law.
The government is preparing amendments to the Law on Water
Management which it will forward in parliament in June.
The government suggested a bill on psychology activities submitted
to parliament by the parliamentary Labour, Social Policy and Health
Committee, as suggested by the Labour and Social Welfare Ministry.
The government has established co-ordinating committees for the
realisation of a sub-programme to the Programme of state changes
and the state cadastre for 2001 through 2005.
Assistant Economy Minister Olgica Spevec has been appointed
chairwoman of the Temporary Committee for Supervising the
Implementation of the Temporary Agreement on Trade and related
Issues between Croatia and the European Union.
Amendments to the Decision on the price for exploitation of mineral
raw materials set new prices of 2.6 percent of the overall turnover
made by the sales. The amendments are harmonised with the latest
changes to the Law on Mining.
The government will initiate a procedure for signing an agreement
on border crossings between Croatia and Hungary, The statement
said.
