INTERNATIONAL RED CROSS COMMITTEE: 17,00, PERSONS STILL MISSING IN BH

MOSTAR, March 18 (Hina) - Six years after the war in Bosnia-Herzegovina there are still 17,000 missing persons in the country, the head of the Commission of the International Red Cross Committee for Bosnia, Pascal Cutat, said. He said this hampers reconciliation in Bosnia because the families of missing persons will not be interested in reconciliation until light is shed on the fate of their loved ones. Cutat said the International Red Cross Committee would continue to search for missing people. He called on Bosnian authorities to help. Cutat provided this data at the presentation of a study called "Women and War", drawn up by the International Red Cross Committee. During the recent war in Bosnia, women were victims of murder and sexual abuse. Currently there are 1,500 women missing in Bosnia, International Red Cross Committee representatives said.(hina) it sb
