OSCE CHAIRMAN CALLS FOR AGREEMENT ON CONSTITUTIONAL CHANGES IN BOSNIA

SARAJEVO, March 12 (Hina) - The head of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), Jaime Gama, on Tuesday called on Bosnian political leaders to exert maximum effort to reach an agreement on constitutional changes. During his visit to Sarajevo, Gama said the international community considers it very important for Bosnian political leaders to create new constitutional solutions by themselves. International High Representative to Bosnia Wolfgang Petritsch confirmed that the issue of constitutional changes was the focus of talks with Gama. They also spoke about decreasing Bosnia's armed forces and about general elections scheduled for October. Bosnia cannot afford its present number of soldiers, and their number must be drastically reduced by developing appropriate social programmes, Petritsch said.
